Time on my hands by Gary Rogers

Like most people around the world, I have found that the current circumstances have given me a lot more time to do some of the things that I usually do not have time to do, for me that means having time to listen to my jazz collection.

As I spent one late afternoon listening to some classics, I came across the great Billie Holiday version of a 1930’s song called ‘Time on my hands’. Billie’s distinct voice and tone shone through and I began to think about the title of the song.

With more people working from home than ever before, it gives us more time to do the things we enjoy that we could never do when we had early morning rises, or varied rises for shift workers, the travel to work, work and travel home from work on busy trains. We were too tired and just wanted to sit, eat and sleep.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I have found that I have time on my hands. Yes, I am working from home and just as busy, but I have the flexibility to have breaks, take some time away and come back and also take a forensic look at where I can use this time to develop.

I recently did an online course and found that the flexibility really suited my current situation. I enjoyed it so much, I have enrolled onto another one, to help develop my skills and make use of the time on my hands.

That’s why we at TCM have been developing our online training for clients, at TCM Online. From leadership development, resolution management and investigations, it’s an opportunity to develop and grow.

We have even developed our free investigations masterclass as a webinar, to share best practice when conducting workplace investigations, along with all our other free events.

Who knows, as Billie sang, maybe you’ll see your dreams come true.
