About Terry Geater

Terry has nearly thirty-three years’ experience of managing and delivering a wide range of human resources services as a permanent employee and, for the last fourteen years, as an interim manager and consultant, mainly in the public and not-for-profit sectors.

For the majority of his career Terry has specialised in managing and delivering employee relations and employment law services. For the last eight or so years Terry has qualified and gained experience in delivering workplace mediation and executive coaching services to clients.

Terry has extensive experience of policy and procedure work for a range of clients, across the public and not-for-profit sectors, including putting in place a comprehensive suite of policies and procedure for the largest single-site residential and nursing home in Europe.

Some of Terry’s recent assignments have included:

  • Designing and delivering a range of human resources training to managers and staff of a London Borough Council
  • As an Associate of a colleague’s company, providing a range of human resources training to managers of a major Health Care Hospital Trust
  • As an Associate of TCM and operating through his own service company providing workplace mediation, investigation of grievances and disciplinary issues for a wide range of clients across sectors and undertaking a neutral evaluation for a client.

Terry is the author of Handling Employee Complaints and Grievances – An Introduction [ISBN: 978-87-403-2042-8] and is currently working on his second book, tentatively entitled Workforce Information Statistics – An Introduction, which is due to be published in 2020. When not working Terry enjoys reading, listening to a wide-range of music and going to the opera, ballet and theatre. Additionally, Terry is a longstanding Justice of the Peace, sitting in both the Adult and Youth jurisdictions and is a volunteer driver with Guide Dogs for the Blind, as well as delivering safeguarding training, as a volunteer, to both volunteers and staff of the organisation.
