As such, Marjorie embeds positive culture into all aspects of her work.
Marjorie is an HR Professional, Coach, Mediator, Trainer, and Lecturer with over 35 years’ experience.
In July 2018, after 20 years, Marjorie stepped down as HR Partner at BKL a 22 Partner Firm of Chartered Accountants. Marjorie was the only Partner who was not in Accountancy or Tax and one of only two female Partners. Marjorie developed HR Consultancy services and set up and chaired the Corporate Social Responsibility and Well-Being Committee.
Marjorie has considerable training and lecturing experience.
Prior to working for BKL, Marjorie was Group Training and Development Manager for a group of private hospitals in Central London, designing and delivering training in Personal and Management Development,
Marjorie was a lecturer/co trainer on the Professional Civil Mediation Course at Hertfordshire Mediation Centre. Most of the students were post graduate lawyers.
Marjorie has been a visiting lecturer on many CIPD qualifications course, including at Barnet College, City and Islington College, the London Institute and Westminster University.
At Westminster University she taught a new module, Employee Counselling, Support and Welfare and over half the students obtained distinction.
Marjorie used music, relaxation techniques and contemporary stress management research, to engage the students and help their concentration.
Marjorie was the first woman to be profiled in Accountancy Age Best Practice Magazine and appeared on the front cover.
Marjorie has worked with global as well as small and medium sized business and has special expertise in healthcare, education. professional services and charities.
Marjorie’s other role is as Fitness Instructor for older adults She trained 4 years ago with, Move it, or Lose it! a Company dedicated to improving the quality of life of older people. Marjorie works in Care and the Community which she describes as a total joy!
In 2012, Marjorie carried the Olympic Torch in recognition of extensive voluntary work, community involvement and fundraising.
Outside work, Marjorie enjoys family based activities, travel, current affairs, trekking, running, and walking to Marathon level, voluntary and charitable activities.
She is Chair of the Lunch Club for Ladies Educated in Scotland (London) And Membership Secretary of Glasgow University Women’s Club (London).
Her voluntary activities include Samaritans, as Shift Support and Outreach, providing exercise classes for a Care Home and Business Coaching.
