Valentine’s day. An international celebration of wonderful partnerships. We felt there was no better time to announce that The TCM Group has committed to a year-long partnership with two wonderful charities. Especially fitting with the Valentine’s day theme is that one of our chosen causes is The British Heart Foundation.

Following the success of our #ThumbsUpForResolution festive fundraiser, we have decided to partner with both the British Heart Foundation and Alzheimer’s Society on an ongoing basis.

To mark our 20th anniversary year, we plan to donate £20 per Mediation service we deliver, and for each place booked onto our National Certificate in
Workplace Mediation
open access courses. We are also busy finalising a schedule of fundraising events, challenges, wellbeing activities and volunteering opportunities for our office team, consultants, and wider connections to get involved with!

In light of our ongoing relationship, the British Heart Foundation have written the following press release, for publication in local media:

Islington-based HR company to take on year-long fundraising drive for heart charity

An Islington-based HR company is planning a year of fundraising activities to support the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

The TCM Group, who specialise in workplace conflict management, HR & Culture transformation, and leadership development, is aiming to raise £5,000 over the next 12 months for the heart charity’s life-saving research.

They will be encouraging staff to take on sponsored fitness challenges and asking their clients to make a charitable donation in return for webinars and guidance resources.

The BHF will also be the beneficiary of a special celebratory event that the company are planning this year to mark their 20th anniversary.

The charity partnership follows a successful fundraising campaign in the run-up to Christmas which saw the company raise just over a £1,000 for the BHF.

David Liddle, CEO and Founder of the TCM Group, said:

I am delighted that, following our successful Christmas fundraising campaign, we are going to partner with the BHF.

As we all know, the past year has been hugely challenging, and we recognise the particular strain that has been put on charities. At TCM, we are very fortunate to have retained our business success, despite the difficulties we all face, and are glad to be in a position where we can support such a wonderful charity.

So many of us will know someone whose life has been impacted by heart disease. We are proud to be in a position where we can provide our ongoing support to the charity, and are looking forward to getting involved with fundraising activities, promoting heart health and wellbeing amongst our staff, and perhaps even getting involved with some volunteer work at their local shops.”

A Wonderfully Worthwhile Cause

In the UK, heart and circulatory diseases cause more than 160,000 deaths each year. The BHF funds life-saving research into all heart and circulatory diseases, including heart disease, stroke, vascular dementia, and their risk factors, including high blood pressure and diabetes.

Nicola Reavey, Fundraising Manager for the BHF, said:

We are enormously grateful to the TCM Group UK for choosing to support our work over the coming year.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on our fundraising. It means that our investment in new heart research is likely to fall by £50 million this year. We know that nearly half of people that died of COVID-19 also suffered from heart and circulatory conditions, so there has never been a more important time to back the BHF.
