The Story of TCM

The TCM Group was formed in 2001. Since that time, we have become an award-winning and well regarded leader in the fields of transformational culture, resolution, human resources, conflict management, employee relations and leadership development. With a global team of world class consultants, we have offices in the UK and the US and we operate across the globe.

Accessible and Practical.

In the past, engaging management consultants often meant wading through complex jargon and unfathomable concepts and frameworks. Not any more. TCM offers a modern and accessible approach to management consultancy. Our programmes and assignments are delivered in a which is straight-forward and practical. For a no-nonsense conversation about culture, leadership or resolution, please contact us now.

Our purpose
aka The TCM Advantage

TCM empowers people and organisations to adopt purpose-led, person-centred and values-based approaches to culture change, conflict and complaints resolution, human resources, people management and leadership.

We are passionate about protecting relationships whilst securing lasting and sustainable outcomes at times of conflict, change, crisis, controversy and challenge. We work in partnership with our customers to develop the overarching strategies, core values, systems, process, mindsets and behaviours which engender a fair, just, inclusive, sustainable and high-performing culture – a transformational culture.

What we do

Our customers benefit from our insightful teaching and consultancy methods which are accessible to all. We are inspired by approaches such as behavioural science, positive psychology, appreciative inquiry, restorative justice, principled negotiation, nonviolent communication and emotional intelligence.

We believe in the ability of people to resolve often intractable problems with compassion and collaboration – when the correct conditions are in place. We also believe that an engaging, empowering and proactive resolution of business challenges is more effective than the confrontational, adversarial and often punitive approaches which are currently in use in a great many organisations.

“I love being a co-ordinator at TCM because I am given access to so many different learning opportunities. The support to learn new things is unlike anything I have experienced previously. And this is just one part of a continuous learning and creative work environment that I get to enjoy.”  – Rebecca Mackinnon, people and culture systems coordinator.

Transforming cultures since 2001

David’s second book, Transformational Culture, reflected the business’ continual metamorphosis and reaction to business needs. Driven by global health, economic and environmental emergencies and rising social justice and employee activism, TCM understood that organisations are urgently seeking a new cultural model which will enable them to thrive. The book provides a bespoke blueprint for developing fair, just, kind, inclusive, sustainable and high-performing organisations. Since its publication in 2021, Transformational Culture has been shortlisted for the Business Book Awards 2022 with David being named one of HR’s Most Influential Thinkers.

TCM continues to build from strength to strength, with our sights now firmly set on expansion across the USA. Let’s hope the world is ready.

The culture flow system

The Culture Flow System™ expresses the relationship between corporate culture and local climates and subculture. The term flow is taken from the theory of positive psychology and is all about creating the necessary conditions for a just, fair, inclusive, sustainable and high-performance organisation.

Here at TCM, we use the model to help organisations to map the current culture and climate of their organisation, before deploying a range of transformational initiatives.

The Transformational Culture Model™

David Liddle’s Transformational Culture Model™ offers a blueprint for a progressive, purpose driven, values-based and people-centred organisation. It is a blend of interconnected elements which span an organisation’s entire ecosystem. It draws upon a range of theories including systems thinking, nudge theory, positive psychology, restorative justice and emotional intelligence.

Here at TCM, we apply the model to all the work that we do, to help support the process of designing, deploying and sustaining the necessary changes which will deliver a fair, just, kind, inclusive, sustainable and high-performance organisational culture. The model can be deployed in support of enhanced people processes, management systems, and leadership strategies/behaviours.
