Evidence. Engagement. Impact.

The 5D Method™

The 5D Method™ is TCM’s signature, research-informed model for generating insight, meaning, and strategic direction from complex organisational data. Grounded in principles of participatory action research and systems thinking, the model provides a flexible yet rigorous framework for diagnosing and transforming organisational culture, performance, and wellbeing. Whether used for cultural reviews, employee voice initiatives, DEI assessments, or leadership development, the 5D Method™ creates the conditions for deeper inquiry and lasting impact.

Discover

This initial phase is about purposeful inquiry. We work closely with your team to define the scope and intention of the project - what needs to be understood, why it matters, and how success will be measured. We then curate a research strategy using mixed-methods: internal document analysis, employee voice tools (such as surveys, listening circles, and World Cafés), and the interrogation of key performance and engagement metrics. The emphasis here is on establishing context and collecting rich, multi-dimensional data.

Diagnose

In the Diagnose phase, we turn raw data into meaning. Through a blend of thematic coding, trend analysis, and interpretative synthesis, we identify areas of misalignment, emerging risks, cultural hotspots, and potential enablers. This phase is rooted in appreciative and systemic approaches, emphasising not only what’s going wrong, but what’s working well - and how that can be scaled. Our aim is not to pathologise, but to catalyse constructive and informed change.

Dream State

This phase brings aspiration into the heart of strategy. We invite stakeholders to articulate a compelling future state - what a healthier, fairer, and more effective organisation could look and feel like. Drawing on facilitated visioning, storytelling, and predictive analytics (including tools like Rose AI), we bridge the diagnostic insights with possibility thinking. This is where collective imagination becomes a strategic asset.

Design

Co-creation is the hallmark of the Design stage. In partnership with your internal stakeholders, we translate findings into practical, grounded interventions. This might involve reimagining HR policies, strengthening systems of accountability, enhancing team dynamics, or embedding new leadership behaviours. Each intervention is stress-tested for feasibility, relevance, and cultural fit. We also support the development of strategic communications, board-level briefings, and business cases to ensure alignment and traction.

Deploy

The final stage turns insight into action. Whether we’re delivering tailored training, coaching leaders through complex transitions, or embedding a new Resolution Framework™, the deployment process is collaborative and agile. We don’t just hand over a report - we walk alongside you to ensure the change is sustained. Our role is to empower, equip, and elevate your internal capacity to lead and maintain transformation.

Culture and Leadership Alignment Lab™

This is a FREE 90 minute workshop run by our CEO and globally renowned people and culture thought leader David Liddle

Misalignment between culture and leadership creates significant organisational risk. Poor cultural health directly impacts performance, retention, innovation, and ultimately, your bottom line. Many organisations struggle with these challenges in isolation, often without the proper frameworks to diagnose and address the root causes. The Laboratory creates a unique space for an honest assessment.

The Culture And Leadership Alignment Lab delivers immeasurable benefits. Most notably, it provides a useful first step in a transformative journey that positions leadership as a primary driver of cultural excellence. Organisations that have participated in similar sessions report significant improvements in employee engagement, reduced conflict, enhanced leadership capability, and a more cohesive strategic direction.

Cultural Audits

Using TCM’s innovative 5D Method™, our culture audits deliver an insightful and thorough exploration of your organisational culture, encompassing its values, norms, behaviours, and underlying dynamics. Each audit is undertaken meticulously, with exceptional skill, sensitivity, and absolute discretion, delivering accurate and meaningful insights that enhance organisational alignment, employee engagement, and cohesion.

Our culture audits incorporate the very latest thinking and proven best practices drawn from people analytics, diagnostic organisational development (assessing and transforming organisational systems and structures), and dialogic organisational development (leveraging dialogue to shift mindsets and behaviours). By adopting a person-centred and holistic approach to data collection and analysis, our audits reveal key norms, trends, and behavioural patterns. They also highlight organisational strengths, potential challenges, areas of exemplary practice, and critical opportunities for improvement thereby empowering you with actionable insights for lasting positive change.

The Resolution Review™

TCM’s Resolution Review™ offers a meticulous and comprehensive examination of your full suite of HR/people policies, including discipline, bullying and harassment, performance management, capability, whistleblowing, and absence management. Using our acclaimed 5D Method™, we assess the practical application of your policies plus their alignment with best practice and legal/regulatory compliance. By pinpointing root causes, hidden costs, and wider organisational impacts, the Resolution Review provides invaluable data and strategic insight, empowering you to significantly enhance the way you resolve concerns, complaints, conduct and conflict at work.

Using  our innovative Conflict Calculator™  we help you to develop a compelling evidence base for policy reform.

By undertaking TCM’s Resolution Review™, your organisation will:

  • Build a robust business case for a Resolution Framework with full stakeholder engagement.
  • Strengthen compliance and reduce organisational risks.
  • Enhance employee trust and confidence in HR processes.
  • Promote positive workplace behaviours and healthy conflict resolution practices.
  • Drive meaningful improvements in organisational performance, morale, and employee retention.

Team Climate Healthcheck™

TCM’s Team Climate Healthcheck™ is a powerful diagnostic tool designed to evaluate the prevailing climate within any defined team environment – whether it be a project team, department, faculty, unit, division, or geographical region. By examining the lived experiences of team members, this approach provides a real-time, person-centred understanding of the relational, cultural, and operational dynamics that influence team performance, engagement and wellbeing.

Using a rich blend of qualitative and quantitative research methods, the Healthcheck gathers detailed data across a wide spectrum of workplace themes: from interpersonal relationships, trust and communication, to inclusion, collaboration, employee engagement, customer experience, wellbeing, behaviours, and approaches to performance and conflict resolution. It also assesses how the team navigates change and manages crises providing vital insights in today’s dynamic and complex organisational landscape. The resulting report offers a nuanced and evidence-based evaluation of the team climate, accompanied by targeted recommendations and a practical action plan. This plan supports the development of a psychologically safe, high-performing team environment – one in which your people can thrive, and your organisation can flourish.

The benefits of this approach are far-reaching.

  1. Firstly, it surfaces the often-unspoken issues that may be quietly undermining team cohesion and effectiveness, offering a constructive path to address them.
  2. Secondly, it builds trust by demonstrating a genuine commitment to listening to employees and taking meaningful action.
  3. Thirdly, it empowers leaders and team members alike with clear insights and shared language for understanding team dynamics.
  4. Fourthly, it enhances decision-making by rooting interventions in real-world data rather than assumption.
  5. Finally, it creates a roadmap for continuous improvement, enabling teams not only to resolve existing issues but to build the resilience and capabilities needed to excel long-term.

Engage 360™

TCM’s expertly facilitated 360-degree reviews offer a rich, multi-perspective assessment of leadership effectiveness. Drawing feedback from peers, direct reports, supervisors, and—where relevant—external stakeholders, this process enables leaders to see themselves through the eyes of others, fostering a deeper understanding of their impact across the organisation. Unlike traditional appraisals, which can be limited in scope, Engage 360™ reveals a balanced and comprehensive picture of a leader’s strengths, behaviours, and development areas. Whether it’s recognising the accessibility appreciated by direct reports, or the collaborative influence acknowledged by peers, these reviews make visible the subtle yet powerful dynamics that shape leadership success.

Engage 360™ delivers two vital benefits. First, it cultivates profound self-awareness by uncovering blind spots and clarifying how a leader’s decisions and behaviours are experienced across the organisation. Second, it generates actionable insights that inform personal development plans, enhancing core leadership competencies such as communication, emotional intelligence, and strategic decision-making. Moreover, when leaders engage with this feedback transparently and constructively, they model a mindset that builds trust, strengthens team cohesion, and reinforces a culture of continuous learning and transformational leadership.

Employee Relations and DEI Audits

Organisations across sectors are increasingly confronted with serious and complex concerns relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), as well as broader employee relations issues. Allegations of bullying, incivility, abuse, harassment, and discrimination (BIAHD), alongside complaints of unfavourable treatment linked to protected characteristics, can severely undermine morale, damage organisational reputation, and erode trust in leadership and HR functions.

At TCM, we offer a rigorous and compassionate audit process led by our expert team of DEI and employee relations specialists. Our approach uncovers underlying causes, evaluates the lived experiences of employees, and identifies both overt and systemic barriers to inclusion and fairness within your workplace. These audits provide practical, evidence-based recommendations to foster a culture of dignity, equity, and respect. Drawing on the very latest thinking in organisational justice and inclusive leadership, our team delivers a roadmap to support sustainable transformation—not only to address immediate concerns, but to embed fairness and belonging at the heart of your organisation.

Two key benefits emerge from this work. First, the audit helps to identify hidden cultural and structural issues before they escalate into formal disputes or reputational crises. By confronting these challenges head-on, your organisation demonstrates accountability and a willingness to learn. Second, we support you in transitioning from isolated or reactive DEI initiatives toward a cohesive, integrated wellbeing, engagement, and inclusion (WEI) strategy – ensuring that inclusion becomes a lived reality, not just a stated ambition.

Through this process, we help create workplaces where all people feel safe, respected, and empowered to thrive.

Listening Exercises

At TCM, we know that being heard is a universal human need – one that lies at the heart of a healthy, happy and high-performing workplace. With over thirty years’ experience working with teams and organisations, we’ve developed Listening Exercises that give employees a meaningful voice, particularly during periods of change, system development, or organisational transformation.

Delivered at scale and tailored to your organisational context, our Listening Exercises provide a structured, psychologically safe space for individuals to share their views, experiences, concerns, and ideas. Whether conducted formally as part of a wider employee engagement or change management initiative, or more informally within local teams, these exercises foster open dialogue, promote inclusion, and build the trust needed for genuine collaboration and shared purpose.

The process is designed not merely to collect opinions, but to create a culture in which communication flows freely in all directions, and where staff feel seen, valued, and respected. This, in turn, drives engagement and supports better decision-making at every level of the organisation.

Two key benefits stand out:

  • By actively listening to your workforce, you gain deep, authentic insight into the lived experience of your people—insight that can shape strategy, improve systems, and anticipate risks before they escalate.
  • Second, listening itself becomes a signal: a visible and powerful commitment to your values of inclusion, respect, and participation. It tells your people, unequivocally, that their voice matters.

In addition to delivering these exercises, we offer training for people and culture teams, managers, and leaders in the essential skill of active listening . This means that the ability to hear, understand, and respond becomes embedded in your organisational DNA.

Neutral Evaluations

TCM’s Expert Neutral Evaluations offer a fair, objective, and expertly delivered process for managing complex and sensitive workplace issues, including grievances, allegations of bullying, misconduct, and whistleblowing. Conducted by TCM’s team of employee relations specialists, HR experts, and legal professionals – including barristers and King’s Counsel where necessary – these evaluations focus on uncovering the true source of workplace concerns with precision and discretion.

Rather than taking a purely procedural or punitive approach, our Expert Neutral Evaluations involve a thorough, evidence-based examination of the issues at hand. The outcome is a clear, impartial report that not only identifies the root causes of the grievance or allegation but also provides actionable recommendations to help resolve the situation effectively and equitably.

This approach brings two distinct and powerful benefits. First, it protects the integrity of working relationships by removing bias and emotion from the process, thereby preventing escalation and mitigating the risk of long-term conflict. Second, it provides organisations with independent, expert-led analysis, ensuring credibility and reassurance for all parties involved while reducing pressure on internal teams. By outsourcing the root cause analysis to experienced neutral evaluators, organisations demonstrate a commitment to fairness, transparency, and early resolution – safeguarding trust, morale, and legal compliance in even the most difficult situations.

When an organisation is looking to undertake a programme of leadership development, HR process redesign and/or cultural transformation, an evidence-based approach delivers a significant improvement in the overall impact and sustainability of the programme.
