David’s personal ethos in relation to workplace mediation, grievance and disciplinary investigations is ‘resolution over blame and learning over fault’.
David is a highly experienced, former senior police officer with proven results in the operational and strategic delivery of local policing, national security, counter-terrorism and preventing violent extremism. His final role prior to retirement from policing was as the National Coordinator for Prevent, the Government’s strategy to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism. His depth of experience enables him to exercise leadership with authenticity, wisdom and discernment. He has a thoughtful, empathetic and inclusive delivery style that helps individuals to develop and feel valued combined with a natural instinct to create harmony within teams and organisations. He is energised by making connections between communities, organisations, faith groups and the statutory sector to help them achieve more than they can alone.
Alongside his core policing roles David also served as a leading workplace mediator and grievance resolution advisor reflecting his proven experience that organisations, big or small, can only deliver their vision and maximise productivity in an environment where internal conflict is recognised and addressed.
David has worked in highly confidential departments with a wide range of partners and national security agencies. Throughout his police service he was subject to national security vetting and has extensive experience of working in settings where that is required. He understands and appreciates the culture, working environments and pressures of the national security, emergency services, government, military and public sectors. He has regularly worked in partnership strategically and tactically with businesses, charities, diverse communities, the third sector and faith groups in the UK and abroad. With this background David offers clients the security, trust and confidence they deserve.
David was awarded a Master’s Degree in Public Administration for which his dissertation examined the contemporary use of workplace chaplains. He has served as a local authority foster carer and is a trustee of a national community engagement charity. David has one wife and two daughters who are growing up too fast.
