Unresolved conflict costs a lot more than just money. Our workplace mediation services resolve complex and challenging disputes – swiftly, effectively and with as little disruption as possible. Our team of expert and experienced workplace mediators work with all parties in a dispute to establish their underlying needs and interests, encourage dialogue and ultimately, facilitate a mutually acceptable resolution.
In most cases, mediation lasts for one full day. Experience has shown us that entrenched positions can be adopted when problems are overlooked or inflamed. Whereas a fully trained and skilled TCM mediator can help your employees move towards a more constructive and satisfactory resolution.
We resolve 93% of disputes referred to us and these typically involve complex issues such as grievances, complaints and allegations of bullying, and harassment.97% of disputes are resolved in just one day. Refer a case for mediation now – contact us on 0800 294 97 87
TCM’s FAIR mediation process comprises 4 simple stages. These are set out below:
We have developed a unique and highly effective framework that underpins all workplace mediation activities – the FAIR Framework™.
FAIR mediation is a dynamic, efficient and highly effective process of dispute resolution in which the mediator works with all parties to find a suitable remedy and outcome.
The session was excellent. I completely understand the benefits of mediation. Thank you TCM."
TCM’s mediators are full members of the Professional Mediators’ Association (PMA). The PMA is the standard bearer for professional mediation standards across the UK and is recognised by CIPD and UK Government. The approved professional mediator practice standards are available to download for free here.
TCM also subscribes to the EU’s Code of Practice for Mediators and we are registered with the Civil Mediation Council.
Workplace mediation is suitable for a wide range of issues. If you are unsure about the suitability of a case in your organisation, please contact us and we will be happy to offer no obligation, impartial advice to help you decide if mediation is right for you.
Listed below are just some of the cases that we regularly and successfully mediate:
“Mediation is a non-adversarial way of resolving difficult situations. It is used as an alternative to formal or legal processes. At TCM, we describe mediation as a mind-set; a framework; and a competence.
The mediator is an impartial third party. They help the two or more disputing parties to have an open and honest dialogue so that they can secure a mutually acceptable outcome. A win/win outcome. Mediation is different because it is about collaborating rather than blaming.
Any agreement in mediation comes from those in dispute, not from the mediator. The mediator is not there to judge, to say one person is right and the other wrong, or to tell those involved in the mediation what they should do. Mediation is both voluntary and confidential“
Thank you for the recent mediation service provided to RCPCH. A very successful day and working relationships improved enormously. I have always believed in restorative processes. The service offered was excellent and evidences that this really is the right approach to resolving conflict."
Last year, the team at TCM achieved a successful resolution in 97% of the disputes referred to us*. This is an unprecedented success rate in mediation and is due to the commitment that we have at all stages of the process.
Mediation begins from the minute that you contact us and continues way beyond the parties reaching that all important resolution. *our success rate is based on the parties achieving a signed agreement by the end of mediation.
For many years, TCM has been advocating an increased role or mediation as an alternative to time consuming and stressful grievance procedures and Employment Tribunals. We are delighted that mediation will now be taking a more prominent role in UK workplaces. The new system will emphasise the importance of early dispute resolution, for example through workplace mediation. Employers will be encouraged to offer informal dispute resolution mechanisms either through the provision of external or internal mediation.
The proposed benefits of the revised system will be that they are simpler and less prescriptive and that they offer greater flexibility to informally resolve conflicts at work. Our hope is that this will result in cost and time savings and that it will also reduce the stress of going through an Employment Tribunal.
You are welcome to contact us with any type of mediation related enquiry. We are passionate and knowledgeable about mediation and we welcome any questions that you have.
