Emily Cole, HR Advisor at Ambassador Theatre Group

We are excited to offer a new, one-day workshop in-person for up to 12 people. An opportunity to grow into being a more restorative person which will affect your personal and working lives.  This is an experiential workshop and an opportunity to be open and vulnerable, and become more empathetic. Jo Berry will lead the day with emotional safety and a compassionate approach. Being restorative is removing the parts of us which want to blame another human being or ourselves and learning how to challenge others with compassion.

Delegates will also receive a 1-2-1 follow-up coaching session with the course facilitator, three months after the one-day course, to enhance and embed their learning.

Who is Jo?

Jo Berry is a pioneer in restorative dialogue and has been working around the world to empower people to be restorative as well as giving workshops on how to become more restorative. She has spent the last 23 years in dialogue with the ex-IRA combatant who killed her father. They have shared platforms around the world.  Jo has facilitated workshops in many countries affected by violent conflict as well as schools in Tower Hamlets.

This is a unique opportunity to have an immersive experience away from theories into a grounded practical experience. All done with emotional safety and deep care.

Objectives

  • Understand the impact on you and your workplace when there is no restorative culture; instead, there is blaming and shaming as the everyday communication styles.
  • To understand and practice how to listen with empathy and challenge compassionately. Improve the overall well-being of teams and organisations.
  • Understanding your obstacles, such as one’s values, biases, and triggers, leads to improved emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills and know the importance of being kind to yourself.

Restorative Practice develops a culture where everyone has a voice, and there is a no-blame/no-shame culture which creates a much happier workplace. If you have any questions please contact our Training & events coordinator Cameron Duncan.
