Paula Harris is a highly experienced People Specialist with 35 years expertise in People and Culture, leadership and organisation design and development, coaching and mentoring, learning and development and generalist HR. Paula has a varied career and has led People Teams over a number of industries including Financial Services Regulation, Retail, Public Sector, Publishing and Manufacturing , Research Institutions and Charities in organisations such as Lexis Nexis, Reed Elsevier, The Zoological Society of London, Ted Baker and Monsoon Accessorise before working in-house in her last role as Director of People and Culture at The Pensions Regulator for 4 years.
People and Culture
Paula has designed and developed P&C strategies for a number of organisations aligning to business strategies and corporate plans and delivering the objectives required to drive transformation and more inclusive thriving cultures. Paula has facilitated culture audits, understanding current and aspired culture and developed roadmaps and plans for transformation to the desired culture.
Organisation Design and Development
Paula is a CIPD accredited Organisation Design Practitioner and has led and facilitated OD methodologies and programmes to re-design and re-develop at organisation, function and team level.
Leadership Development
Paula has designed and delivered leadership development programmes for Executives, Senior Leaders and Boards as well as creating development to increase people management skills and capabilities in many organisations and sectors including local government, Arms Length Bodies, Charities, Property, Financial Services, Retail and Publishing. Recently Paula co-designed a Leadership Culture Development Programme to engage, empower and equip leaders to lead culture change within the transformation of a government organisation.
Coaching and mentoring
Paula has been a coach since 2004 and has hundreds of hours of experience coaching executives, leaders and technical specialists in a variety of settings and organisations. She blends a number of methodologies to enable and embed deep behavioural change and increased confidence and performance. Paula is a mentor to a number of people and has designed and implemented sustainable Mentoring Programmes across many sectors including programmes designed for Women in Technology, a regulators network and a number of EDI Networks.
In addition to working in-house as a People Professional Paula has, in her career, been the founder of 3 companies – Respond2Change; who were experts in organisational and individual change using employee feedback software solutions and coaching individual employee behavioural change complimented with 360 feedback software; Talent Within offering Business and Personal Coaching, Communication and Personal Impact and Leadership Development; And ReadySteadyCoach which was dedicated to working with parents, teachers and health professionals to raise awareness and develop emotional intelligence through the use of coaching techniques for children.
In her spare time Paula likes to travel and got to the theatre with her partner, spend time in Cyprus (where she grew up) with her parents and walk her 12-year old miniature schnauzer, Lockie, around and about Brighton and Hove.
