David Liddle, will lead this session to look at and discuss alternatives to the traditional grievance route, focussing on resolution and mediation. Transformational Culture

Wednesday 23rd November 2022

We put people first! TWG’s culture is rooted in a philosophy that values people over profits. Our people are valued as whole individuals and provided the opportunity for well-being, connection, and fulfilment which makes TWG more innovative, resilient, and even more profitable.

This is a common theme that also runs through the heart of TCM so it felt right for us to collaborate with TWG.

In this two hour workshop, leading culture change and conflict resolution expert, David Liddle, will explore what a transformational culture is and how it can be adapted to meet the needs of TWG. David will examine the benefits of putting purpose, values, and people first. He will suggest that dialogue, justice, fairness, inclusion, sustainability, wellbeing, and happiness are the foundations of good work and a high-performing workplace. With an emphasis on participant interactivity and engagement, this workshop will explore how David’s Transformational Culture Model™ can help TWG to align these core principles to underpin its own Employee Experience and Customer Experience.

During the workshop, David will also provide practical tools and strategies to ensure that team climate and workplace culture become aligned. He will explore the role that HR policies, management systems and leadership behaviours play in cultural alignment or misalignment. David calls this ‘Culture Flow’.

Compassion Conference

Wednesday 13th July 2022

Together towards tomorrow

The last two years have been challenging for the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB) and while continuing to provide excellent investigations and reports to the healthcare system we have faced our own difficulties which culminated in a cultural review.

As the pressures of the pandemic start to ease, and the HSIB prepares for its journey to become the Health Services Safety Investigations Body (HSSIB) and the maternity Special Health Authority (SpHA), this is a pivotal time for all our staff to be compassionate to themselves and others. The ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy is important for leaders as well as staff and it has a positive impact on team
dynamics and our working day.

Our CEO, David Liddle was a key note speaker at the HSIB event where he introduced ‘Transformational Culture’ to the attendees.

It makes a difference to everyone if compassion is part of everything we do.

Delivering a culture-centric onboarding process

Tuesday 21st June 2022

Delivering a Culture-Centric Onboarding Process

  • How do you align the onboarding process with the company culture?
  • How can you communicate the company culture properly?
  • How do you build a sustainable company culture?

Our CEO, David Liddle was invited to be a guest speaker in a panel discussion about delivering a culture-centric onboarding process. Successful onboarding creates an essential bridge between the employee recruitment and the selection process. It is key to creating norms and expectations around company culture so that they are accepted as widely as possible. To ensure this, it is essential to convey the company culture early on in the process. Communicating the company culture is an important element of the onboarding process as it has a significant effect on employees’ attitude and adaptability. In the long term, a successful culture-centric onboarding process is, therefore, a prerequisite for business’ growth, considering a healthy company culture ensures consistent work from employees. This panel will teach you how to retain employees through a culture-centric onboarding process.

Quality Conversations: How to Disagree Well

Wednesday 27th April 2022

“Confrontation is a choice that we make as human beings. Every day, we choose how we react, how we behave and how we speak to others. In conflict, we can choose to respond rather than react, and collaborate rather than confront.”

In this unique webinar, delivered by David Liddle and hosted by The Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM), delegates were introduced to a variety of practical tools to support leaders in navigating the complex maze of difficult conversations, managing performance and giving bad news.

The ability to have good quality conversations is one of the cornerstones of effective management and leadership. Conflicts both at work, and throughout our personal lives are somewhat inevitable, however, the ability to disagree well can prove critical in remaining productive and collaborative when disputes do arise.

In the online session, David helped registrants to understand how to prevent workplace conflicts escalating, understand barriers to communication, and how to handle challenging behaviours.

CIPD Coronavirus Webinar Series- Managing conflict, bullying and harassment at work

Thursday 10th December 2020

The unequal impact of the COVID-19 health pandemic divided our workforce. While the Job Retention Scheme (furlough) enabled many employers to keep workers on the books, employees were feeling very anxious about job security, heightening tensions among the workforce.

Concerningly, CIPD research conducted earlier in 2020 found that a quarter of employees thought their company turns a blind eye to workplace bullying and harassment. Conflict is an inevitable part of human interaction, but it’s essential organisations get to grips with handling conflict at work and adopt a zero-tolerance approach to unfair treatment like bullying.

In this session, a panel of experts unpacked the challenges of COVID-19 generating workforce friction; recognising the behaviours that can fuel negative conflict; and helping to identify how to nip incidents in the bud at an early stage to help people managers swiftly resolve and manage conflict at work.

Our CEO and Founder, David Liddle presented alongside Rachel Suff, Senior Employee Relations Adviser at the CIPD.

What can we do Differently to Support Prevention and Resolution of Workplace Bullying? - Conduct Change

Wednesday 18th November 2020

Current workplace policies and procedures, including statements of zero tolerance, have been proven not to work for relational conflicts and in fact add to the injury caused by bullying behaviour, by causing the target to relive the trauma repeatedly through recording, reporting, investigations, appeals and tribunals. It is time for greater clarity around bullying and the damage that it does to both individuals and organisations, and for leaders and employees to share responsibility for creating more compassionate and courageous approaches to dealing with this matter.

During his speaker slot, TCM’s CEO David Liddle discussed what we can do differently to support the prevention and resolution of workplace bullying, with a focus on alternative dispute resolution models.
