Recognising the critical role that people managers play in shaping team engagement, performance, and wellbeing, Landmarc sought a tailored training solution. They needed a programme that would help their managers effectively navigate sensitive workplace issues such as investigations, while also fostering a positive and collaborative environment. This led them to explore the possibility of training their people managers in practical investigation skills to improve internal processes and create a more supportive culture.

A Customised Solution: Practical Investigation Skills Training

Landmarc partnered with The Investigation Company by The TCM Group to deliver our 2-day Practical Investigation Skills training across several locations in the UK. The training was designed to provide managers with the tools and confidence to conduct investigations fairly, with a focus on real-world application. Facilitated by TCM’s consultant, Thoralf Kretzschmar (Assoc CIPD), the face-to-face sessions were highly interactive and engaging, equipping participants with actionable skills for managing investigations effectively within their teams.

Expanding the Training with Leadership Skills

Following the success of the initial training, Landmarc decided to extend the programme’s impact. In the same year, they ran 7 of our leadership arms’ Quality Conversations sessions and a Train the Trainer session, ensuring the skills learned were embedded, enhanced and shared more widely within the organisation. Given the positive feedback from the first set of sessions, Landmarc requested that Thoralf continue to lead these additional sessions, impressed with his facilitation and ability to foster meaningful learning and build confidence.

Positive Feedback and Tangible Results

The feedback from delegates was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the practical nature of the training and its direct relevance to their daily roles. Landmarc’s managers now feel better equipped to handle sensitive situations, knowing how to conduct investigations in a fair and transparent manner. The training has directly contributed to a healthier and more engaged working environment, strengthening the internal capabilities of the organisation and supporting future development.
